Swim Ireland Munter Annual Regional Conference
The Swim Ireland Munster Annual Regional Conference (ARC) will take place on Friday 16th February 2024 at 7.30pm at Mallow GAA, Mallow, Co. Cork. Clubs have been emailed the following information.
All club members are welcome to attend but only two delegates per club are permitted to vote.
The Agenda and other relevant information for the Conference will be issued to Club Secretaries 7 days in advance of the ARC, but in the interim clubs are invited to:
1. Submit nominations for vacant regional and national positions
2. Submit any motions or agenda items to the Munster Region Management Committee (MRMC) that a Club would like to see discussed for consideration
Nominations are invited in respect of the vacant positions outlined below and all nominees must be members of Swim Ireland and will be subject to Garda Vetting. It is essential for the continuity of the region that clubs and individuals step forward to fill the various positions andgain experience on the sub-committees.
The regional and national vacant positions are detailed below.
Regional Vacancies
The regional vacancies that are required to be filled are as follows:
Munster Secretary Role must be elected at the ARC
Munster Competitions Committee This committee is composed of 7 members who must be elected at the ARC
Munster Development Pathway Committee This committee is composed of 7 members who must be elected at the ARC. Nominees must have a minimum of a Level 2 Coaching qualification and a current Coaching Licence. The following regional positions were filled during 2023 and are serving 2 year terms, which conclude in 2025. Therefore no appointment at ARC is necessary for these positions
• Munster Chairperson, currently filled by Alan Feenan
• Munster Treasurer, currently filled by Pat McTigue
• Regional Children’s Officer, currently filled by Leonie Galland
National Vacancies
The following national positions were filled during 2023 and are serving 2 year terms which conclude in 2025. Therefore no appointment at ARC is necessary for these positions;
• Regional Representative to the Swim Ireland Board, currently filled by Helen Desmond
• Regional Representative for Performance Advisory Group, currently filled by Tom Cross
• Regional Representatives for Masters Committee, currently filled by and Andrea Newport and Claire O’Connell who held the 2nd position from Munster on the Masters committee has advised that she will be standing down.
The national vacancies that are required to be filled are therefore as follows:
Regional Representative for Masters Committee (1 vacancy) Role must be elected at the ARC
The closing date for receipt of nominations, motions and agenda items is Friday 2nd February 2024 at 5pm. Late nominations will not be accepted.
Please note that nominations for all vacant positions must be submitted by the nominee’s own club and one other club in the region and there must be a delegate from the nominee’s own club present at the ARC in order for the nomination to be valid. Please advise by email ([email protected]) of the names of your two voting delegates by latest Friday 9th February 2024 at 5pm.
